Food & Art: More Paintings by Janet Fish

Here are some more terrific paintings by Janet Fish. Both of these paintings represent a very different approach, although both paintings are food-related, like so much of Fish’s other work. Thematically, 1971’s “Berio Olive Oil” is a precursor to Fish’s famous “Windex Bottles” painting of 1972. “Berio” and “Windex” are both stunning in their portrayal of refracted light, while 1968’s “White Squash with Blue Grapes” is more austere and less literal.
